Mexico
City

Hand-drawn white illustration of birds in medallions, a cowboy boot, a snake, a dragonfly and two cacti

We’ve selected CDMX as the host city for our destination wedding. We are so excited to bring our bi-coastal family together in a place full of art, nature, design, culture and history. We have chosen a great hotel in the neighborhood of Condesa, and we will be providing transportation to all wedding events.

Is it safe?

Mexico City is very safe. The US Dept. of State ranks it in the same tier as Paris, London, or Barcelona.

What about the altitude?

The city sits at 7,350 ft, and the air might be a bit thinner than you’re used to. To stay feeling your absolute best, we highly recommend drinking plenty of water, taking it easy on your first day, and pacing yourself with the celebratory cocktails. Don’t worry—your body will adapt quickly, and we’ll have plenty of refreshments waiting for you.

Can I drink the water?

Like the rest of Mexico, it is not advised to drink water from the tap. Stick to bottled or filtered water at the hotel. However, when you’re out and about in the city, you can feel confident knowing that restaurants use purified water and ice for cooking, washing produce, and making drinks.

Do I need a visa?

US citizens: No visa needed for a visit. Just bring a valid passport.

Canadian citizens: No visa needed for a visit. Just bring a valid passport.

US green card holders: No Mexican visa needed. Bring your valid green card along with your valid passport.

Everyone else: Check whether your country needs a visa on Mexico’s official list (in Spanish), or ask your nearest Mexican consulate.

What’s the best way to get around?

Uber: Easy to find, and better than taxis.

Event shuttles: Provided for all wedding events.
